Hard work, confidence won us AFCON ticket – Amuneke

Ex-eagles star and Tanzania coach Emmanuel Amuneke has lauded lauded Tanzania’s qualification for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Taifa Stars thrashed group leaders Uganda 3-0 at the National Stadium on Sunday to finish second in Group L. Thus qualifying for the AFCON for the first time in almost 40 years.

The Ex Barcelona of Spain star said via his Instagram page “It was an honor to have been given the opportunity to achieve great things with Tanzania football and I’m proud that what we set out to do as our first objective has been met,”

“Qualification for the 2019 AFCON was always going to be a tough task but the hard work and belief the team had got us through. Now we plan for Egypt 2019 AFCON.”

Amuneke now joins late Stephen Keshi in the list of Nigerian Players to qualify another country for Africa’s greatest football showpiece.
