Super Eagles defense stalwarts Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem have been picked by the Confederation of African Football medics for dope tests on Saturday, Punchng reports.
Both players played 90 minutes of football action during Nigeria’s 3-2 win over Cameroon in the Round of 16 at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.
The two players spent several hours with the CAF medical team before joining their colleagues at the Helnan Palestine Hotel beach resort.
The AFCON has not been known to record any positive dope test in its previous 31 editions.
The three-time AFCON winners will depart Alexandria for Cairo after lunch on Monday in preparation for their quarterfinal clash against South- Africa on Wednesday.
