BROWS AND LASHES

BROWS AND LASHES

The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.

-Audrey Hepburn

The eyes are a very special feature of a person’s face because we convey feelings and emotions with the eyes. Legitimate smiles are confirmed through the eyes as well. Ladies know this and that is why the most fragile aspect of applying makeup is the eyes.

When it comes to eye makeup, you have to be very careful and precise as any little mistake can ruin the whole process. Also, depending on the mood or occasion, the type of eye makeup will vary. It is very important to know what to do at every point in time so we will look at the four major types of eye makeup you would ever come across.

The first one is NUDE EYES AKA NATURAL EYES. For any event that is one on one, or for an intimate outing, basically if it’s just you and the other person then please ladies go for natural eyes. This look is perfect because you are probably trying to convince whoever you are talking to of something or show your true inner beauty. You would want him/her to focus on what you are saying and anything more than a natural look can be quite distracting.

It is also key to note that most guys tend to fall between the range of indifferent to repulsed when it comes to makeup, so if you are just meeting someone for the first time, you would want to play it cool. This look is simple to achieve than any other so it’s good for lazy days or when you are in a hurry.

All you will need is one colour of eye shadow (your exact skin shade), eye primer, eyebrow pencil or gel, mascara and concealer. Your normal routine is fine trust me.

The second is what I like to call SUBTLE EYES. If you will be attending any social gathering or event as a regular guest then this is good. You want to stand out but not too much. Trust me you never want to draw too much attention to yourself at someone else’s event.

You will need the exact same thing as the nude eye look but a complete palette with more colours , lengthening and volume defining mascara or false lashes, and eye liner (preferably liquid but stick is fine too).  You may want to perfect your eye blending skills especially since you are going to run into lots of people.

The third look is STATEMENT EYES and it is usually used for photo shoots and events where you are probably the centre of attention or there will be camera’s on you a lot. The popular SMOKEY EYE falls under this look and it’s necessary for every lady to know how to create this. You will need the exact same thing as the subtle eye look but application varies.

The last and final look is the WEDDING MAKEUP EYES. Please note that this look is only applicable if you are the bride or one of the bridesmaids. If you are a guest you may want to go for the subtle eyes. But that being said there are two types of wedding eyes; the subtle, statement wedding eyes. As you can probably tell, the first is a cross breed of the subtle eyes and natural eyes and the second is a cross breed of the statement and natural eyes. You can also have an entirely natural wedding look but especially in this part of the world that is very unlikely.  The type of look you go for is left to the discretion of the makeup artist. You will need the exact same things as for statement eyes.

I started with a quote and I will end with one too; comment below if you want me to show you guys procedures or tutorials or you have questions on the eyes etc.

The face is the mirror of the mind, and the eyes without speaking confess the secrets of the heart.

-St Jerome
