Nigeria’s First female chartered accountant dies at 80

Nigeria’s first female chartered accountant, Chief Olutoyin Olakunrin has died at the age of 80. the accountant who was born on November 4, 1937 was said to have slumped during a church service and was rushed to the hospital.

The late Icon was a founding members of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) which was founded in 1965 and was the wife of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria Mr, Simeon Olakunrin. Disclosure about the funeral arrangement has not be announced.

In another development, Pioneer boss of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission(ICPC), Justice Mustapha Akanbi is dead.

The Ex ICPC who was also a former Appeal Court president passed on in the early hours of yesterday at the age of 85.

Prof Mohammad Akanbi a son of the late octogenarian who confirmed the incident, disclosed that he died in a private hospital in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital after a brief illness.

He has however been buried inline at his Ilorin GRA home in line with Islamic tenets.
